Linkoping University !

Linköping University ( LiU) is a state university in LinköpingSweden. Linköping University was granted full university status in 1975 and is now one of Sweden's larger academic institutions. Education, research and PhD training are the mission of four faculties: Arts and Sciences, Educational Sciences, Medicine and Health Sciences and the Institute of Technology.

Although I am holding on a student ID issued by LiU, I didn't really come to study in the university XD .

Musikhjalpen !

Musikhjälpen (Music Aid) is the Swedish version of the Dutch Serious Request radio/television campaign. The show is an appeal for money which each year helps a certain cause.  Three radio or/and television personalities are locked inside a glass house for 144 hours and they broadcast live on Swedish public service radio network Sveriges Radio and on public services television through SVT. People send text messages requesting a song, with each text costing 50, 100 or 200 Swedish kronor.

(hosts for 2015 :  Kodjo Akolor, gina dirawi and Linnea Henriksson)

Musikhjälpen 2015 - "Nobody should have to escape the climate"

Music Aid was sent in 2015 for the first time from the main square of Linköping, between 13 and 19 December. The theme for this year was "No one should escape climate" with a focus on climate-related disasters that forced millions of people to flee.

During the week registered 268 000 commitment and total was 31,105,000 kronor in which was a new record.

Global Climate March

On November 29, I have participated in the Global Climate March at Linkoping with some friends from the Li.U.

The Global Climate March was coordinated by a huge coalition of climate groups and activists working together — to show world leaders and delegates in Paris that the world is paying attention and the people are rising up.

We demand a climate treaty that's in line with the realities of science and the principles of justice. This was our message: Keep fossil fuels in the ground and finance a just transition to 100% renewable energy by 2050.

Although I can`t really understand those talks and signboards, I can  feel that people here are really care about the environment and they willing to do as much as they can to raise awareness on environmental and climate change.

(here are some videos I took while marching with the people.)

This is all about FOOD !

As I am well-known as a "吃货"(person like to eat), the most important thing is FOOD !

Here, most of the restaurants serves western-style food, like grilled meat, burgers and wraps.

People here LOVE COFFEE. All kinds of coffee and desserts.

Meal from IKEA. Singaporeans loves the chicken wings sold at Ikea, sadly I see no sights of chicken wings here. Instead they have meat balls, grilled salmon and pastas.

This is my very first self-cooked meal in Sweden.
Spaghetti with tomato sauce, broccoli and potato, very healthy indeed. :)

First visit to Christmas Market !

On the third day of arriving Linkoping, peer students from LIKES of Linkoping University decided to bring me to their Christmas market. This is a place where the people purposely made it looks like from the ancient times to attract tourists. Mostt of the locals will visit here before Christmas to purchase things range from food to decorations.

(signboards)

(Christmas tree in the center of the market, children will dance with nursery sounds around it)

(Guy playing ancient music box. I have no idea why he looks so sad :P)

(Found this old clock from a shop selling ancient things)

(Those birds are craft and painted by man, they are so adorable! I`m so tempted to buy all !)

(And here is the Roasted Almonds, they are made on the spot and taste so nice when they are still hot! )
